B'day bash?
The last day of August was a 'memorable' day in more than one way! On the brighter side, it was my 'B'day so had a bit of fun and lotsa goodies to eat! But the way it ended left much to be desired (in the mouth!).
After a rather tiring day at work, my friends and I decided to go out for dinner and the place selected was Chung-Hwa (a local Chinese joint) which we frequent. So nothing out of the ordinary was on the cards. We ordered for some Noodles, Fried rice (Because one of us was a veggie!) and chicken. Then I had this bright idea of ordering prawns and that was probably the beginning. Halfway through the Rice, I felt a queer taste in my mouth and to my horror, realised it was a huge lump of salt!! To make matters worse, I started feeling uneasy and knew I could take no more. Hoping it would make me feel better, we ordered Chinese Tea, and out came a tea pot with something similar to boiling water with small tea leaves strewn around! This was matched by miniature cups and the tea lasted for almost 4 rounds! We happily sipped the 'Tea' in between chuckles and finally 'managed' to finish it.
OK. So that was dinner. Soon, I started feeling really queasy and so parted after hasty byebye's and got into an auto. By the time I reached home, I had a severe case of Wheezing and an allergy of some kind - with swollen eyes!! This kept me in bed and -obviously- out of work for a day, but with a few good medicines and advice from my doc, I was back to my best soon!!
Phew! What a day! - my birthday!
