Is this the way to Amarillo?

Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala
Sha la la lala lalala

Yep..It's the same old song! And the best video for this is the one played by bored Marines in Iraq! The video is not professional and that makes it even more good. The marines with their version of 'Is this the way to Amarillo?' with 'Lucky Pierre' as Peter Kay stays quite well in my mind.
If you wanna see the video...ping me!

Bidding for trouble.

Rumors are that Chelsea have tabled a bid of around 60m for Sheva. I really hope that Milan turn down the bid. Shevchenko cannot, should not join the blues, If he does all of us will feel blue :(

The news that Drogba and Crespo could be part of the deal will make it even more tempting for the Milan board, but no way can they sum up to the Footballer of the year! Shevcehcnko was, is and will be a Rossoneri!

Though Chelsea are denying the claims, everyone is a bit wary. They do have the money to buy absolutely 'anyone', and the fact that they are looking for a striker could not have come at a better time. I do hope they leave shev alone! Even a bid of 99m is not enough - I wouldn't sell him for that price and I hope Milan think along the same lines as well!

ciao,

Brothers in arms

Certain songs make you listen to them over and over again...and one of it is...(atleast for me - I prefer the oldies!)

These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Some day you’ll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you’ll no longer burn
To be brothers in arms

Through these fields of destruction
Baptisms of fire
I’ve watched all your suffering
As the battles raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms

There’s so many different worlds
So many differents suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Now the sun’s gone to hell
And the moon’s riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it’s written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
We’re fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

...Does make a lotta sense, doesn't it?

United we Go!

What do you do when your favourite team is struggling the Championship! You manage the team and try to take it to greater heights, and that's exactly what I am doing...Well, atleast in a simulation kinda game!;)

Leeds were languishing in mid table in the championship and after a bit of wheeling and dealing in the transfer market, and some serious changes in the strategy, are now at the top of the table and look good for promotion and the title! Next Season is going to be back in the premiership..And then maybe the Champions League and Premiership title... (Oops...Just kept dreaming on ;).

Sigh...Wish the real story of Leeds United was as nice as this. But..But, the mighty whites will bounce back and then Elland Road will be back on the map as the place to be!

Until then...'Marching on Together'!!!

The end of the Red Baron ?

Who would have thought the F1 Drivers standings would be

1 Fernando Alonso 77
2 Kimi Raikkonen 51
3 Michael Schumacher 43

and the constructors list be
1 Renault 102
2 McLaren 87
3 Ferrari 74

after 11 races this season. But it is a welcome change to not see Schumi or Ferrari at the top of the table. But knowing 'the red baron', you cannot write him off so easily. It won't be a surprise if, on October 16th, Schumi holds aloft the World Champions Trophy! The only thing that matters right now is crossing the chequered flag first, but every finish counts!...And every single point matters! (go back to 1994 to realise the value of a single point!). This weekend's Grand Prix at Hockenheim will be an interesting one with Kimi trying to catch up on Alonso, Schumi trying to put up a good show in his backyard and Alonso expecting to extend his lead in the run for the title!

God save the Queen

Just felt like putting up an update on the playlist (again!)

...Maybe 'I'm going slightly mad' but who cares! Queen still lives!- We'll atleast on my playlist. Have some of my favourite Queen tracks on it and it goes on and on and on...And I believe that 'the show must go on'!. And the ever famous voice of Mercury keeps asking 'Who wants to live forever?'. Well I, for one, am not too sure about it! ;)

Here we go on U turns!

A few contract U turns in the EPL.

Gerrard's high profile 'I want to leave Liverpool' followed by his signing a contract back at Liverpool must have been the biggest distraction Liverpool needed. but thankfully he has signed to end all the drama! But - though am not a big fan of the Reds - they probably will need him next season to try and give Chelsea a run for their money.

Ashley Cole with his tapping saga with Chelsea and his not so happy wage contract seems a bit too much far any gunner fan. Again, am not a small -let alone big - fan of Arsenal either and putting Cole on the same wage as Henry and Vieira (ex-gunner already!) is a lot more than he deserves! Maybe, they should just cash in now and buy a couple of more good players. In fact, I think Cole knows that if he doesn't sign he might have to go to lesser clubs (with all due credit) because Chelsea have brought Del Horno in and Man U already have the outstanding Henize! - that must have been a great motivating factor! ;)

Another saga...The Rio Ferdinand saga. Man U are on my list of favourites, but no player is bigger than the club and Rio should sign the deal that's on the table. If he goes back a little bit, he'll remember the club which was with him when he had to face his 9-month ban. I kinda like this fellow, and it will be great if he signs and stays with Man U for a long time...Will he end all the speculation? Only time will tell.

Life goes on

...Was just musing how life is, especially when you have to say goodbye to someone close to you. Well...We all have to say our frequent bye's to each other though it maybe for a couple of days, months or even forever! But I just had to see my friend off at the railway station and the fact that she was going to another place to work and we'll (obviously!) meet each other did not seem to change my mind or the way I felt about the entire situation. After exchanging our goodbye formalities, the time came when we really had to part! Watching the train slowly roll out of the station made me realise the depth of the moment and how certain things are very very important to us!

Anyway...As Poison sang...

"Life goes on while you're miles away
And I need you
Time goes on as night steals the day
There's nothing I can do"

Batman Begins!

Ever wondered the real reason why Bruce Wayne became batman? Why not 'any otherman'? Why did the Wayne's go into an alley late in the evening? How did Batman find the bat cave? And so on and so forth...The answers lie in 'Batman Begins'!

The movie starts and evolves around the young Bruce Wayne and how he matures enough to take up thugs and drug Lords and finally to become the dark knight. Christian Bale does a good job as Batman but looked like Katie Holmes was included only to bring a heroine kinda role. Gotham city was created well and would be a good place for Spiderman to swing along on all the skyscrapers! The title 'Batman Begins' seems to indicate - to anybody with an ounce of common sense - that it is the beginning and the prequel to all the Batman movies and that fact is clearly depicted at the end! - I particularly liked it!

Quite a good watch as it's not just another batman movie!!

Just a co-incidence?

Just thinking aloud!
Two of my favourite Stars, two missed kicks and two titles lost!

1994: The World Cup Finals in the US puts the Italians against the Brazilians for what was touted to be a grand finale. The Game ends in a 0-0 draw after extra time and then moves to penalties. Roberto Baggio - who almost single handedly brought Italy through to the finals - steps up to take the decisive kick. A miss would hand the World Cup to Brazil. Baggio looks at the crowd, takes his kick but to the dismay of the millions watching, it sails high over the crossbar! Baggio stands looking at the ground and Taffarel - the Brazilian custodian - is down on his knees with arms raised high in the air!. The brazilians start their samba...Leaving a dejected Italian squad and a host of heart-broken fans!

2005: The Champions League finals! - at Istanbul was a fancy affair with the Mighty AC Milan taking on Liverpool whose dream run continued right up to the finals! After a dramatic comeback by Liverpool (explained in my older post), Shevchenko takes the final kick which will either keep Milan in the hunt or give Liverpool the win! His weak drive to the center is saved by Dudek, and gives Liverpool's fairy tale a 'happily ever after' ending.

The Memories keep flooding back to remind the moments when time seemed to stand still!But...Life goes on...for the winner and the loser!
