Drogba wants more from Shevchenko?

Just because Drogba seems to be having a fantastic season, it doesn't mean he can harp to his hearts content. The SUN quotes him "On Shevchenko's side I don't really sense the desire to collaborate. I think that as a big signing he believes he is obliged to justify his transfer fee with goals at any cost."

Sheva is trying all that he can to adapt to the English lifestyle and the pace of the game but all this riff-raff does not help one bit. And if you ask me, the main reason why 'Diving Drogba' is having a ball on the field is because of the presence of Shevchenko. Where was Didier last season? and before that? How many did he score?a handful of plucky goals here and there. But now it's an entirely different ball game. The defenders are too busy trying to mark the talismanic Ukrainian which leaves Drogba a clear chance...and then he scores! And like any other professional striker, the more you score, the better is your morale, and you re-discover your form and continue on a good run. So instead of opening his big mouth, he should learn to keep it shut and roll on the grass while it's sunny!

Wedding bells.

"Yesterday, All my troubles seemed so far away, Now it looks as though they're here to stay, Oh, I believe in yesterday. "

Um...actually, I started to write about my friends wedding and started as 'Yesterday' and then continued on with it.OK. So where was I?yeah. Yesterday was one of my closest friends' wedding but unfortunately I was not able to make it as it was out of town. Though I was not there to bring a broad smile to her face on her most cherished day, I was there in spirit and a small text message added to it. Remembering all the good times and the fun times almost brought a tear to my eye but that is how life is. You might have to wave a happy good bye to people near and dear and stick on with the not so dear ones! Anyway, the picture of her sitting there in the midst looking as pretty as ever would have - by itself - made the wedding more grand than it usually is. Here's to a great friend! Congratulations, and a happy Married life!

Vroom Vroom

After an Early Sunday morning church service, taking a stroll down MG road to Coffe house can have it's own sights to see and behold. There, parked in all its glory was a blue BMW with its shiny coat glistening in the sharp morning sun. All I could do was admire it for a couple of minutes, but those few minutes were enough to see and feel the streamlined body and the nose-grill carved to perfection. A quick appreciation and then I continue on my walk down to the coffee shop for a nice plate of scrambled eggs and toast!

Have to March On...

Leeds United's fall from grace seemed to stop last season and almost started a revival of sorts and made it to the play-offs. But this season, mixed transfers and sacked managers, tell part of the story. The rest could go down in history as to how not to play in the EPL. Leeds are languishing almost at the bottom of the Championship, level on points with Southend - which props up the table. Will Leeds' total downfall lead them further away from the stars and glory? I sincerely hope not! The Mighty whites who - not many season ago - were in the last 8 of the champions League are now fighting for survival deep in the bottom half. With the managerial changes, and new players coming in it's just plain hope against hope that things will get better around the corner. With the former Chelsea skipper, Wise, at the helm, we have experience and quality, but only time will tell if it was indeed a 'wise' decision!

Poker!!!!

Got me my poker chips! Got me my poker chips! Got me my poker chips! :)
Ok. so am all excited about it. You might say, whats the big deal? Well, if you have your's custom made and shipped from CA, then you might be a tad excited too. Obviously I don't use real money, the chips are just for the fun of it and they do give a new dimension to the game. I wonder how many nights we are gonna stay up having 'Royal' fun...Now, I say, game on fellas!

Carmageddon?

Saw a rather amusing sight Walking down to office last week. There was this Maruti Van Guy who was making a 'U' turn just off the median and on the opposite road was this Indica who was coming down the straight as though he was heading for the chequered flag at Silverstone. Now, our guy, having almost completed the turn, wanted to make amends for barging in and so dutifully swerved to the right - but a wee too much - and saw his van being propped on the median! Boy, was it funny! Nice funny start for the day!

Nice cup of hot tea...

Tea...Yesterday's tea at the Barista was worth mentoning here! The cup of tea, the company and the place were the same but the 'people' around seemed to make it more interesting!I am pretty sure my friend will agree to that and we might talk about it someday too. - Just thought about mentioning it here.

The Departed

The long overdue post about 'The Departed' is finally here! To start with, the cast had a pinch of this and that with Jack Nicholsen, Leonardo diCaprio, Matt Damon, Alec Baldwin and last but not least Mark Whalberg brought on to the screen together by Martin Scrosese for this gangs and cops flick. Even after watching the movie a couple of times, I wouldn't mind sitting through it again. I have to say it was a good movie after a long time. This will go down with 'Taxi Driver' and 'Goodfellas' - some even argue this is probably the best of Scorsese so far. Anyway, since this post should have made it up long back - am cutting it short. The bottom line is if by some chance, you haven't watched it yet, drop everything and go rent it out now...i mean NOW!!!

Off to Dubai...

Um..err....not me, but one of my closest pals - is off to Dubai for work and so leaves a void in the E-Street Band. But there are no plans to replace him in the E-street Band as it's simply not possible - You just cannot replace a 18-year old friendship with something which comes around the corner. Though the 3 others 'members' are also a bit off-colour,
the good-bye's have to be said as it's a good and better opportunity for him. See ya soon!

....2007

A look back at 2006 brought back mixed memories. The good coupled with the bad. Though the start to the new year has not really been fabulous, there are 11 more months to show what this year has in store! Things and people change, places and work can change...in fact anything can happen and it's all going to be for the good of life. 2006 seemed to be good, and Italy winning the world cup was the cherry on top of the cake. Having stepped into this year, hopes are high but the stakes seem to be low!

Things I'd like to see in the new year

- Leeds United surviving in the Championship
- Atleast 1 good movie in 2 months
- People driving in a more civilized way
- Chelsea not winning the EPL Title again.
...and Paris Hilton going into permanent hiding!
