Light at the end of the tunnel?

Any good news during these trying times is a welcome sign and name one that's better than the news that your club is doing well. Leeds United announced a profit of £4.5m and made the mighty whites all over the world smile with child like glee. Add to add to that, the news that the board wants to repurchase the Thorp Arch training facility and Elland Road within the next 12 months is mouth watering!
Elland Road is back! So are the Mighty Whites!

Robbo at his Best.

Read something this morning on the BBC, which needs more than a first read. It left me rolling on my sides for a few solid minutes. This is an excerpt from Robb's Column today:

"Fabio's spent time with the players, realized the average IQ of the squad is slightly lower than that of a baboon colony and has kept the instructions appropriately straightforward"

Well. No one can explain it more explicitly! Long Live Journalism!

Today.

Nothing Important Happened Today :-|

PS: I have to quote that title from the X Files.

Life as it is now.

Hmmm...Right now, Am sitting here in my cube and trying to get some idea on a few issues. But nothing seems to work :) LOL - whats new huh? Ahh..there goes my finance lead, muttering something to herself. Not that it matters. Am all alone in my own
world now, typing all this and listening to 'Human' by the Killers. It kinda brings a smile to my face thinking about the good ol' times that I've had. There seems to be some kinda discussion in the corridor with three other guys...the Database should
be...blah blah...Another guy walks past them aimlessly (LOL). That's my company in a nutshell for today :) OK. OK. I'll stop. I know I've bored enough!
Anyway, that's life I guess, things and people change - some leave a big impression, and some don't.

The Italian and Italy.

Good news for the English. There seems to be some hope, a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. Last night's international 'friendlies' left a rather good taste for the England Fans. A 2-1 win over rivals Germany will be regarded as a benchmark for the perennially under-achieving English. With Capello, they have a manager who is not only ruthless but hungry for the result. He does not look at the ego's, the golden balls or their over protective Club Managers. His principle is quite simple. You play well - you get the nod. This performance by the 'second string' England side was mighty impressive and will surely have the likes of Lampard and Gerrard shifting uneasily in their seats. And what is to become of Beckham and 'Owens' (as Capello calls)?
The Door is always open, he says, but with time running out, it might be a good time to play more Club Football :)
Well, that was the Italian.

Now for Italy. Unlike England, Italy had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Greece which was not quite the result all of us were expecting. The World Champions have not been at their best for quite some time and the rusty approach showed on the field as well. With Toni, they do have a marksman who can be the best on his day, but sadly, his days do not come as much as required. But, all said and done, a game not lost is always counted and there is always hope in the next few games. In the end, all that counts is the next World Cup. If they can hang on to it for four more years - all the losses and draws will be forgotten.

Sigh!

God! Time sure flies. The other day when I was reminded about my Blog, I realized that it's been a long long time since I updated my 'corner'. Well, am at work now but will have to update about Life, Leeds United, the Rossoneri and BK. :)
