After two games in, Italy have made all the others look up with eyebrows raised as they have two comfortable wins by scoring 3 goals in each game and conceding none so far. In fact, the clean sheet stretches to 10 games now which is close to 1000 mins! 

Looking back at how they won the 2006 World cup, they had a solid backline, led by their engimatic captain Cannavaro, which conceded only two goals in the entire tournament...and both of them were penalties!

If they can build on their solid performances this year, we can always continue to dream!

EURO 2020

With EURO 2020 about to begin in 2021, all the teams are well prepared for this interesting tournament this time around mainly because of the pandemic. Hopefully,  we are past it and things will get back to normal soon, and football as we love it will be back with full stadiums once again.

The Germans will always be favourites but with France having a brilliant team and also being the world champions, will put then right on par with Germany.  Spain have faltered of late and England have been perennial under achievers in big tournaments but will be lurking around for a win. Portugal will be hoping to defend through crown with Ronaldo leading, probably, for the last tournament for them. 

With all those teams in the mix, it will be a tough tournament but I am hoping Italy can keep their impressive form and go all the way. That would be the icing on the cake!
